This Day in Music - July 16, 1962: The Beach Boys sign with Capitol Records

The Beach Boys' first album was Surfin' Safari, which was released on October 1, 1962.  I never realized it until this moment, but Americans might have been thinking about something else in October 1962, like nuclear annihilation.
